CINCINNATI (AP) — Left-hander Justin Nicolino pitched seven innings to win his major league debut and Derek Dietrich hit two home runs as the Miami Marlins snapped a three-game losing streak with a 5-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday night. The efficient Nicolino allowed four hits with two walks and two strikeouts while outpitching Anthony DeSclafani, his former roommate in the Toronto and Miami organizations.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Tampa Bay Rays starter Erasmo Ramirez left the game against the Cleveland Indians in the fourth inning with a strained right groin. Ramirez went into the game with a 6-2 record and had won four consecutive starts.

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Miami Marlins recalled lefty Justin Nicolino from Triple-A New Orleans to start Saturday in his major league debut against Cincinnati. Nicolino replaced right-hander Tom Koehler, who was scratched with neck and back problems. Nicolino, 23, was 4-3 with a 2.87 ERA in 13 starts for the Zephyrs.
