ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — St. Petersburg police continue to search for a killer after a man’s body was found Monday morning on Coquina Key.
Detectives found 68-year-old Paul Dumas dead inside his home at the 4200 block of Elkcam Blvd. SE, just after 7 a.m.
Dumas’s sister, Elaine Vidinha, 63, was also found badly injured.
Investigators are looking for 44-year-old Otis Joseph Henderson.
Police believe Henderson argued with Dumas and Vidinha, leading to their severe beating.
Henderson may be armed and is considered very dangerous. If anyone has seen him or locates him, they should call the police immediately at 727-893-7780.
Andrea Sterling lives across the street. No one in the neighborhood had a clue who would do this.
“I’ve seen him come and go for the garbage can. Seemed to just mind his own business,” she said.
Investigators said the attack happened over the weekend.
Police said Dumas and Vidinha, both lived at the house.
Detectives said Henderson knew them.
Investigators said Vidinha gained consciousness around 7 a.m. Monday morning and yelled out.
“She was attacked this weekend and was so badly injured that she was able to call for help this morning, so someone called and we came out,” said Sandra Bentil, St. Petersburg Police Dept. Spokeswoman.
Now neighbors like Sterling, are worried about Henderson being on the loose.
“With my family and I being here. It’s very worrying because you never know who did it, what’s possibly going on, can it continue to go on. So it is something to worry about,” she said.
