Host Gift Ideas

Bring something more exciting than a bottle of wine so it looks like you put a little thought into your gift. Your host is putting so much work into having you come to their home for the big day so show them some appreciation!

Gift 1: A gorgeous pumpkin and leaf print dish towel and decorative turkey lifters.  Now, you’re probably thinking if I’m going to someone’s home for Thanksgiving they’ll already have a pair of these. But here’s the thing… they probably do not have a decorative set, because this is one of those items that makes a great gift because it isn’t necessarily an item you’d buy for yourself.

Gift 2: Fresh apple cider and gourmet mulling spices – the perfect fall treat. Honestly is there anything better than cozying up on the sofa with a hot cup of spiced cider? Give a gift your host can enjoy while relaxing after the big day. Place this is a gift in a decorative paper bag with some pretty tissue paper and you have a really fabulous gift.

Gift 3: This gift is perfect for the host who you know loves to bake. This is one of those miniature cake tins that make cute bite sized treats. I like to pair it with a bag of gourmet cake mix and you have yourself a really great gift. This is a great alternative to bringing food to a party, unless of course you were asked to because that can be an etiquette no, no. You don’t want your guest to think they have to serve whatever you brought… so this is a great way to avoid that.

Gift 4: Board games! With technology, board games are often forgotten about but what better way to bring the family together than with a little competitive fun. Again we all probably don’t play board games often but I think we can all admit… once you start playing them it can be really fun. Large puzzles are a great idea too, anything that will bring the group together. And this gift would be perfect if you’re going to be an overnight guest.

Gift 5: Now this gift is a bit larger but this is more so if you’re an over night or weekend guest. In that case I would suggest bringing a little bit of a larger gift just because you’re spending much more time in their home. So create a small gift basket and fill it you’re your items. Everyone can use a great cozy throw blanket, some fresh pumpkin coffee, cute fall themed mugs… again items they probably wouldn’t buy themselves but they make a fabulous gift. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
