TAMPA — WFLA News Channel 8 hosted its ninth annual KINDNESS DAY on Friday, Dec. 8.
“We’re excited about this year’s Kindness Day which is expected to be our biggest and best event to date. Kindness Day will highlight four local charities to help our community and make this holiday season special,” said Andy Alford, Senior Vice President & Regional Manager, Nexstar Broadcasting, Inc.
As of 5 p.m., we have already surpassed last year’s event in every way.
Over 900 cars have passed through so far, more than 80 pints of blood have been donated, 5,200 toys have been donated, 3,115 teddy bears have been donated and 7,385 pounds of food (about 6,154 meals) have also been donated thus far.
