Investigation leads Pasco Co. deputies to rooms of marijuana plants

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (WFLA) – Two men were arrested in Pasco County on charges of trafficking and growing marijuana.

Investigators from the Pasco Sheriff’s Office arrived at the home on Ottawa Street for a theft of services investigation initiated by Withlacoochee Power.

The power company confirmed the left had been occurring for at least 100 days, amounting in approximately $3,600.

When officers arrived, they found three rooms of the home were converted and modified to grow marijuana.

Police seized 64 marijuana plants varying in size from seedlings to seven-feet tall, with a combind weight of 121 pounds.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of Elcido Rodriguez and Milvio Cruz.
