POLK COUNTY, FL (WFLA) — The Polk County branch of Toys for Tots say they are in desperate need for new toys for young kids this holiday season.
Toys for Tots volunteers say there are more people in need this year. The Polk chapter is so low on toys, they’ve needed to cut the number of gifts each child will receive, and if things get worse, they may have to turn some families away.
They say they are specifically looking for toys for children ages 5 and under.
“We are in a desperate need of toys and we need everything. Especially need for ages five and under. They represent a very high percentage of the toys every year,” says Dorthy Dunlap, of Polk County Toys for Tots.
Anyone who would like to make a donation can drop of toys at one of the 450 donation boxes set up throughout Polk County. Find a location here.
