(WFLA) — Yummy! It’s National Cookie Day and WFLA News Channel 8’s Lila Gross has all of her favorite winter treat cookies for you to try.
Red Hot Sugar Cookies
These are awesome for the holiday season, with the perfect amount of kick.
Lauren’sLatest.com said once you pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees, place Red Hots into a plastic food storage bag and crush using a rolling pin. Then, mix cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Whip in vanilla and egg. Stir in crushed candy. Roll dough balls in powdered sugar, and place on baking sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes and let cool.
Salted Carmel Chocolate Chip Cookies
Sweetphi.com said to cream together butter and sugars until combined and fluffy (about 2 minutes) then add in vanilla extract and eggs, beat until combined, and pour in caramel. Slowly add in the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and beat slowly until combined. Stir in chocolate chips and place dough in the refrigerator for an hour. Then, preheat oven to 350 degrees, ball dough, and bake cookies for 11-12 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with sea salt. Let the cookies cool and enjoy.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine the flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Beat the butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Slowly beat in the flour mixture until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips. Bake dough balls for 8 minutes, and remove from the oven. Remove from oven and push 3 to 4 marshmallows and a few pieces of Hershey’s bar into each cookies. Return to the oven and bake an additional 3-4 minutes until fully cooked. Cool cookies on a wire rack.
