ODESSA, Fla. (WFLA) – A 79-year-old man was killed early Monday morning in an Odessa fire. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews responded to the fire around 5:40 a.m.

The fire occurred 17100 block of Gulf View Court, located in the Silver Dollar Golf and Trap Community. “When firefighters arrived they reported a fully involved double-wide mobile home. Crews were also notified of a possible person still inside the home,” a spokesperson said. “Crews immediately started search and rescue operations inside the home searching for the individual.”

The victim was found deceased inside the home. He’s been identified as James Moungan. Another victim was located across the street. She was taken to the hospital, and her condition is improving.

“There was a lack of fire hydrants in the area, and a tanker water shuttling operation was put in place. Firefighters also set up a portable water tank on scene to provide water to crews fighting the fire,” the spokesperson said.
