ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) – Deputies are investigating the death of an infant found dead in his bed at his caregiver’s home near St. Petersburg.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s officials said in a news release that 2-month-old Jayden Livermore was found dead Tuesday when 59-year-old Donna M. Orlando went to check on him while he was napping.

Investigators say Orlando had placed the baby in bed around 10 a.m. before doing household chores. When she went to wake him around noon, investigators say he appeared unresponsive. Orlando called 911 and a neighbor performed CPR on the child before paramedics arrived.

He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Investigators say there were no obvious injuries to the child. An investigation continues.
