ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – Watch this incredible video. A camera caught a school of crevalle jack, also known as Caranx hippos, feeding on hundreds of pinfish Bayboro Harbor in St. Petersburg.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Research Institute shared this video. “Typically, schools of crevalle jack will corner a school of baitfish at the surface and feed with commotion that can be seen at great distances. Crevalle jacks are common in both inshore waters and the open sea, and they feed mainly on small fish,” FWC staff explained. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
