Pasco plaza reopens after bomb threat; no suspicious device found

UPDATE: The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says no suspicious device was found. The plaza has reopened.

PREVIOUS STORY: PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bomb threat at a Bealls near New Port Richey.

The Bealls is located at 7101 State Road 54.

“Deputies were on scene investigating a retail theft when the Bealls department store received a bomb threat from an unknown person,” a sheriff’s office spokesperson said. “Units are looking for a suspicious device inside the Bealls.”

All businesses in the plaza decided to evacuate. SR 54 and Rowan Road are still open.
