BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) – The Bishop Animal Shelter SPCA is hosting it’s annual Canine Christmas Festival complete with a visit from Santa and a sleigh full of dogs in need of new homes.

Each year thousands of dog lovers come to the free event packed with vendors, food trucks, dog groomers and pet-related Christmas items for your pups. The event includes a Doggy Fashion show that spotlights dogs dressed up for the holiday season. Plus, don’t miss the ugliest dog and shedding contests and a fun obstacle course to entertain your dog while testing his/her speed and agility.

If you’re looking to adopt an animal, more than a dozen local rescues will be at the event with adoptable dogs, cats and other small animals.

The event takes place Saturday, November 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bishop Animal Shelter, 5718 21st Ave West, Bradenton.
