WEEKI WACHEE, Fla. (WFLA) – Two students suffered minor superficial burns when a coolant line leaked on a school bus in Weeki Wachee on Thursday.
Hernando County Fire Rescue crews responded to reports of several children burned from fluids coming from the school bus they were passengers on.
HCFR arrived at the scene at 2:25 p.m. There were 35 students from Weeki Wachee High School on the bus who had evacuated.
Two students suffered minor superficial burns, according to a HCFR spokesperson.
The students were examined by paramedics and did not require to be transported from the scene. The parents of the patients responded to the scene and the children were left in their care.
HCFR was told that it appeared as though a coolant line had leaked fluid onto the students.
