HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A crash that killed two people closed all northbound lanes of Interstate 75 at Fletcher Avenue in Hillsborough County for much of Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened around 2:25 p.m. on Tuesday. Northbound I-75 was reopened shortly before 7 p.m.
Emergency crews and the Florida Highway Patrol responded.
A FHP spokesperson said two people were killed in the crash that involved three vehicles.
A large amount of nails were spilled across the road. Drivers must exit northbound I-75 at Fowler Avenue.
Eagle 8 flew over the crash scene shortly after the crash. Traffic was already beginning to back up. Drivers were asked to avoid the area.
