Teen shot to death on Bradenton street

Goode, 18, survived a battle with Lupus three years ago.

BRADENTON, Fl. (WFLA) – An 18-year-old Bradenton girl was shot and killed Sunday afternoon by an unknown gunman.

Moriah Hope Goode was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

According to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies were dispatched to the 3300 block of 4th St. East just after 4:30 p.m. in response to a shots fired call.  As they were responding, Bradenton Police reported Goode had been transported to the hospital by a witness.

Detectives have been collecting evidence and interviewing those present when the shooting occurred. Investigators don’t believe this was a random incident.

In 2013, Goode was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. Family, friends and classmates held a carnival and raised $30,000 for stem cell research. The treatments worked sending the disease into remission.

The investigation continues and charges are pending.

Anyone with information about this case, should contact the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office at 941-747-3011.
