Florida’s early voting wrapping up on Sunday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Early voting in Florida is coming to an end.

Floridians can still vote Sunday in 16 of Florida’s 67 counties, including some of the state’s largest.

The Democratic strongholds of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties will have polls open, as will Pinellas, Hillsborough and Orange counties along the strategic Interstate 4 corridor.

Democrats are planning “souls to the polls” events encouraging African-American churchgoers to take advantage of the last day to early vote before Tuesday’s election.

President Barack Obama will campaign for Hillary Clinton in central Florida on Sunday, while Donald Trump’s running mate Mike Pence will hold an event in Panama City.

The number of votes cast before Election Day will likely pass 6 million, or roughly half the state’s registered voters.
