CINCINNATI, OH (WLWT/WCMH) — Cincinnati police have released surveillance video of an assault inside a school bus.

The attack happened in front of a bus full of young elementary school kids on their way to St. Joseph Catholic School.

Kiesha Shannon, 28, is accused of beating her 5-year-old daughter’s bus driver, Deamber Martin, on Oct. 18.

According to a police report, Shannon blocked the bus with her car, then pried the door open and confronted the woman driving the bus.

The camera captured the moment Shannon started yelling at Martin.

“That was just so ignorant. Did you see me coming on the bus though, right? You see me getting my baby on this bus though, right? You see me giving her a hug though, right? And if I punch you in the (expletive) face, you’re going to be sorry as hell. Get on the bus!”

In the heat of the moment, Martin said she went into defense mode.

“I was thinking, ‘Oh crap. The bus is running, the kids are everywhere,’ but my life is in danger, you know, I’m in danger, we’re all in danger,” said Martin.

Martin told WLWT that Shannon was upset because her child wasn’t able to board the bus late.

Students can be heard crying out in the video, “Mommy, Mommy!”

Parents tried to intervene in the brawl but Martin said Shannon pulled the bus keys out of the ignition, stopping the recording, and proceeded to bite and scratch.

“This is my right ear being bitten,” Martin said. “She was able to scratch my face, leaving the bruises, poked my right eye, broke a blood vessel.”

Shannon now faces misdemeanor assault charges. Martin is back on the job on light duty, but is looking forward to her day in court.

“No bus driver should ever have to experience what I went through,” she said.
