This weekend we will be setting our clocks back and enjoying an extra hour of sleep. However, Daylight Saving Time also serves as a reminder to do another important task and change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Fire departments across the country are sending out a reminder. So when you set your clock back for Daylight Saving Time also make sure to check the batteries in all the detectors in your home.

Homeowners are urged to test their smoke detectors once they change the battery. This is as simple as holding the test button located on each device.
