TAMPA, FL (WFLA) — The Cross-Bay Ferry begins service for the public starting Friday, Nov. 4. The ferry goes between downtown Tampa and downtown St. Petersburg–designed to give commuters a way to avoid the busy highways between the two cities.

The six-month pilot program will start with two trips Sunday through Friday and three trips on Saturday.

One-way tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children. Kids under age 3 can ride free. The sail across Tampa Bay takes about one hour.

The Provincetown IV is a 98-foot long vessel that can carry 149 guests and has indoor and outdoor seating.
