Tampa woman, 26, found dead in ditch was homicide victim

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Detectives say the woman whose body was found in a ditch on the side of a Hillsborough County road on Tuesday was the victim of a homicide.

Investigators with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office released the identity of the woman on Wednesday.

A person riding a horse discovered the body of Evelyn Woodham, 26, of Tampa in a ditch on the north side of the road around 1:43 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodham’s body was found in a ditch about four to five feet off the roadway near the intersection of 20th Avenue South and 58th Street South. http://wfla.com/2016/11/01/body-of-woman-found-in-ditch-in-hillsborough/

Detectives say Woodham was fully clothed and had suffered trauma to the upper body.
