Police: Suspect in custody after attempting to open Bartow school doors

BARTOW, Fla. – A suspicious male was observed at Bartow Elementary Academy, attempting to open locked doors in the fifth grade hall of the school.

When confronted by teachers, the male fled. He was immediately located by Bartow Police Officers and was arrested pending numerous charges. The charges include burglary, disruption of school and trespassing.

At no time were children in danger. Teachers were very attentive to those who do not belong on school grounds.
