ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — The Round Rock Police Department says a father and his daughter were killed when a driver that was street racing struck them after a collision. Police say the crash happened around 3 p.m. Saturday at A.W. Grimes at Gattis School Road.

Initial information indicates two drivers in Ford Mustang vehicles, one blue and one red, were racing when the red Mustang clipped a silver mini-van. The collision pushed the minivan onto the sidewalk where it struck a man and his 12-year-old daughter, killing them.

The two passengers in the red Mustang were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The three occupants of the minivan were also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said charges are being filed against the driver of the red Mustang, however, they are not specifying what kind of charges at this time. They said the driver of the red Mustang is a male in his lower 20’s. The driver in the blue Mustang sped off and police are searching for the driver. They ask the public to call the police if they have any information on the car’s whereabouts.
