Inmate escapes from Bradenton prison

BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) – Deputies with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office are searching for an inmate who escaped from a prison in Bradenton.

Investigators say inmate Shannon L. Holmes was last seen at 7:25 p.m. on Friday outside the Department of Corrections Bridges Of America Prison facility. Inmates reported seeing her pacing by a portable close to 63rd Ave. East.

Holmes had been incarcerated at the facility since May of 2016. She was serving time for burglary and drug convictions.

Authorities say Holmes is not allowed off of the facility property.

Holmes was last seen wearing a pink polo and blue jeans.
