UberEATS expands to St. Pete area, offers free delivery for limited time

The UberEATS app allows you to order food from your smartphone.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – Uber is expanding its UberEATS food delivery service to include the St. Petersburg area beginning Wednesday, Oct. 26.

To celebrate the expansion, UberEATS will be offering free delivery to those in the coverage area for a limited time.

The coverage area for the St. Petersburg expansion includes the neighborhoods east of 71st Street North/Belcher Road.

The UberEATS food delivery service first launched in Tampa on Sept. 7 with 75 restaurants offering food from their menus.

Now, more than 50 restaurants in the St. Petersburg area are participating including-

  • Central Melt

  • Chi-Town Beefs and Dogs

  • Green Market Cafe Taco Bus
  • Hawkers
  • Krispy Kreme
  • La V
  • Leafy Greens Cafe
  • Main Street Boys
  • Mi Carreta
  • Noble Crust
  • Skyway Jack’s
  • Squeeze Juice
  • The Cupcake Spot
  • The Hangar Restaurants
  • The Oyster Bar
  • The Queenshead Eurobar

Delivery is available from 6 a.m. to 3 a.m., seven days a week.

To order, you need to download the free UberEATS app on your smartphone, then search for a restaurant. If the restaurant is open, you’ll have access to its menu, and can place your order. The UberEATS app will display a total that includes the cost of the food, as well as a $4.99 deliver fee. Payment is made through the users Uber account, and the order can be tracked on the app.

According to the UberEATS website, the average order takes 35 minutes from start to finish. UberEATS promises delivery 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (based on when a restaurant is open).
