PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – If you’re considering adding a dog or cat to your family, this weekend might be the time to do it.
Pasco County Animal Services says it is overloaded with strays.
Due to the high volume of dogs and cats coming into the shelter, the agency will be offering free adoption fees on Saturday, October 29. That means that adoption fees will be waived.
With over 200 cats and dogs available and waiting to be adopted, Pasco County Animal Services is asking for everybody’s help in finding these animals homes.
Pasco County Animal Services is a “Save 90” shelter. PCAS says it strives to find loving homes for adoptable animals and not euthanize for space. With so many strays coming in and not enough adoptions or rescue pulls, the shelter says there are not a lot of options.
Many of the area shelters and rescue organizations are also at capacity. Pasco cats and dogs need you. If adoption is not an option at this time, PCAS asks that you please help the cause by spreading the word. The more people who adopt, the more lives will be saved.
The Pasco County Animal Services Adoption Center is located at 19640 Dogpatch Lane, Land O’ Lakes, Florida, and is open from 12:00 p.m.‑6:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
