DOVER, Fla. (WFLA) – Here’s what can happen when you don’t lock your car doors.

Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office are searching for two men and a woman who took a garage door opener from an unlocked car in Dover and then used the garage door opener to burglarize the home while the residents were sleeping.

Detectives say it happened sometime between 10:30 p.m. on October 10 and 6 a.m. on October 11.

The trio used the garage door opener to get into the garage and then entered a home on Herndon Street through an unlocked door in the garage.

They stole a laptop, a Fossil watch, and a wallet that had credit cards in it.

Surveillance images show the trio using the victim’s credit cards at two Walmarts located at 1208 E Brandon Boulevard and 11720 E Dr Martin Luther King Boulevard. They also used the credit cards at the Tobacco Depot in Plant City.

The sheriff’s office is asking for help identifying the suspects. If you recognize them or the car they drove call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200.
