Polk County will not make up school days due to Hurricane Matthew

POLK COUNTY, FL (WFLA) — Polk County Public Schools will not require make-up days due to Hurricane Matthew, the district announced Thursday.

Schools were closed for two days earlier this month due to weather conditions associated with the storm. Polk Schools says staff has carefully reviewed the 2016-2017 school calendar and determined that there’s enough instructional time in the calendar so that make-up days will not be necessary.
