(WFLA) — A disturbance that is being tracked just north of the Bahamas has a chance of forming into a storm in the next several days.
As of Tuesday morning, the National Hurricane Center says there’s a 40 percent chance of cyclone formation in the next 48 hours; and 70 percent chance in the next five days.
NHC says pressures are falling in the area. The low is expected to intensify in the next couple days and a subtropical or tropical cyclone could form.
Storm Team 8 meteorologists are keeping an eye on it.
“Atmospheric conditions will become more favorable in the coming days. The system, whatever it becomes, is not expected to impact the Tampa Bay area,” said Storm Team 8 meteorologist Ed Bloodsworth.
