Another depression opens up in Pasco mobile home park

Cones and tape are in place to keep folks away from the large hole.

HOLIDAY, Fla. (WFLA) –- It is like déjà vu all over again for some residents of a Pasco County mobile home park.

For the second time in as many years, a depression has opened up on Torch Street in the Holiday Travel Park off US Highway 19. County officials say they didn’t respond to inspect the crevice because it occurred on private property.

In situations like this one, the problem is handled by the property owner and their insurance company.

A representative with the residential community, who declined to be interviewed on camera by News Channel 8, says the hole opened up several days ago. It is currently 15 feet in diameter and several feet deep.

A construction company has set up shop at the site and is expected to begin filling it in on Monday.

In November 2014, a large sinkhole opened up just a few feet away on the same street, swallowing up a small SUV in the process.
