PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Pasco sheriff’s deputies warn parents of a man in a dark blue van who tried to talk a 15-year-old girl into getting in the van.
According to Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened on Bartlet Road in Holiday. The driver in the older model blue van tried to engage the girl in a conversation and then asked her to get in the van. The girl refused and made it home safely.
The driver of the van was described as a bald white man approximately 30-50 years old.
PCSO detectives are investigating the incident. They asked the residents who have surveillance cameras to check the video to see if the van was captured on the footage. The deputies obtained the photo of the dark-colored van that appears to match the description of the van given Saturday. The van appears to have front end damage to the bumper and missing the left hubcap.
The neighbors in the area are concerned about the incident.
“I wasn’t here last night but if I would’ve seen it I would’ve done something about it,” Vincent Zagara said. “Should be a concern to everybody…. But if I see that van, that van that you showed me, I will call the police and have him arrested…”
Deputies also remind parents to talk to their children about the importance of not engaging in conversations with strangers and to immediately report suspicious incidents.
