(WFLA) – Legoland Florida will open Friday at 10 a.m.
Thursday, the theme park and on-site hotel were evacuated because of a bomb threat that was called in just before noon. For several hours, the park was combed for explosives, but none were found. The Winter Haven Police Department says the bomb threat was a hoax and is focused on finding and prosecuting the person(s) who made the threat.
Legoland says it will honor tickets from Thursday, and also will issue refunds or changes to affected visitors or hotel guests. Legoland Florida released this statement about Thursday’s bomb threat:
Thank you for your patience and concern. Earlier today, we received an anonymous bomb threat and we quickly made the decision to evacuate our theme park and hotel according to our established safety protocols. At this time we have determined this to be a hoax.
The hotel and theme park have been cleared of any potential threat by Winter Haven Police Department. The hotel has reopened and the theme park will operate as scheduled tomorrow from 10 am to 5 pm. Our team is happy to assist with any requests for ticket or hotel refunds and changes through LLF.Experience@LEGOLAND.com.
