50th St. in Tampa reopened after dump truck crash

UPDATE (10:45 a.m.) – 50th Street has been reopened.

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) — A traffic accident on 50th Street under the Selmon Expressway has resulted in a dump truck spilling gravel across the roadway. At this time, northbound 50th Street is being diverted at Palm River, and Crosstown traffic cannot exit at 50th Street.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:48 a.m., and involved a truck and a van. The truck was knocked over on its side and spilled gravel across the roadway. The accident resulted in minor injuries.

Crews have begun the cleanup process, but at this time it is unclear how long the road will be impassable.
