(CNN) It’s the motorcycle of the future, according to BMW. The company unveiled a new concept motorcycle in California on Tuesday.
“The BMW Motorrad Vision Next 100” will have self-balancing wheels, so that a kickstand is needed only when the motorcycle is shut down.
It will also have an “electronic safety cage” that communicates with other vehicles and road sensors to help it automatically avoid crashes.
BMW is so confident, it won’t even sell helmets along with the bike, only goggles and insulated road suits.
It’s unclear how long it will take BMW to fully develop the bike.
