NAPLES, Fla. (WBBH) — A Naples man is facing charges after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend as she was holding their newborn twins.

According to investigators it all began with an argument over breastfeeding.

The woman claims 37-year-old Edward Lawrence, her boyfriend and the father of newborn twins, began brutally choking her and pushing her, all while the babies lay on a nursing pillow wrapped around her waist.

The victim told deputies that at one point, Lawrence pushed her by the head so hard that she fell back, hitting her head on the wall of their children’s room. The impact left a dent in the wall. The head of one of the twins also hit the wall.
