Teen driver collides with Pinellas school bus, 2 students get minor injuries


PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A Pinellas County school bus transporting Palm Harbor University High School students collided with a car Tuesday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

It happened near 15th Street North and Nebraska Avenue in Pinellas County around 2 p.m. A 16-year-old driver was traveling in an Audi going south on 15th. She stopped at the stop sign and continued into the intersection and into the path of the school bus.

The girl hit the driver’s side of the bus.The bus had 16 students on board. Two students were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The teenage driver was also hospitalized with minor wounds. She was ticketed for running a stop sign.
