VIDEO: Law enforcement K-9 water training

(WFLA) – Local law enforcement agencies teamed up with Busch Gardens’ Adventure island for a water K9 Adventure.

The officers and their four-legged partners spent the day training in different water scenarios such as tracking a suspect through water and catching a suspect who has jumped into the water.

It is important for law enforcement K-9s to receive exposure to different environments so that when they are put in a real life situation, it isn’t their first time, officers explained.

Officer and deputies with Tampa Police Department, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Pinellas Park Police Department, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Largo Police Department, Zephyrhills Police Department and the U.S. Air Force participated in the training. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
