VIDEO: Gov. concerned about low-lying areas in Jacksonville as Matthew moves north


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) – Florida Governor Rick Scott said on Thursday that authorities are concerned about Hurricane Matthew’s impact on the Jacksonville area, particularly low-lying areas in Nassau County where many communities are under a mandatory evacuation.

Heavy winds and rain have been pelting the Jacksonville area since Thursday.

Hurricane Matthew moved through the Jacksonville area Friday.

Reporter Candace McCowan has been in the Jacksonville area since Thursday where she has been bringing us live reports on the deteriorating conditions there. Not everyone was following evacuation orders on Thursday.
