VIDEO: 144 spend night at Lakeland shelter

LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) – About 144 people sought shelter from Hurricane Matthew on Thursday night at a high school in Lakeland.

By Friday morning, the threat had subsided and people began leaving Tenoroc High School.

One woman who went to the shelter survived Hurricane Andrew and did not want to be caught in a storm like that again.
