Winds, choppy surf arrive in Brevard County ahead of storm

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Hurricane Matthew is expected to bring heavy damage to Florida’s east coast.

Florida Governor Rick Scott has been warning residents in evacuation zones to leave the area.

Thursday afternoon, winds from Matthew’s outer bands were creating choppy surf.

WFLA News Channel 8 reporter Jeff Patterson traveled to Brevard County to see how people are preparing for the monster storm.
