Hurricane Matthew’s winds, rain arrive in Palm Beach County

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – On Thursday, Florida Governor Rick Scott said that the Palm Beach area could be the first community in Florida to be battered by Hurricane Matthew.

WFLA Meteorologist Ian Oliver and WFLA Social Media Producer Lila Gross traveled to the Palm Beach County area to cover the storm.

By mid-afternoon on Thursday, they had been evacuated from their hotel. They then traveled to Palm Beach Shores, where waves and high winds from Matthew’s bands were already pounding the beach.
