(WFLA) – Dozens of canines participated in the annual Surf Dog-a-Thon along the San Diego County coast this weekend.
About 80 dogs hit the water paddling, surfing or just chilling in the waves on the beach in Del Mar. The annual event is hosted by a local animal center and is a perfect end for the dog days of summer.
“So you see a lot of love out there,” Jessica Gercke with the Helen Woodward Animal Center said. “You see people who have made these dogs not only pets but true family members and they do things together, so it’s great to see.”
The center finds home for more than 3,000 cats and dogs every year.
