Deputies: Sarasota man arrested on drug charges while playing PokemonGo


SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A man is under arrest on drug charges after deputies found large quantities of drugs in his car while he was playing Pokemon Go.

It happened soon after midnight Monday at Ufer Park. Sarasota County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol came close to a parked vehicle. Deputies smelled marijuana in the car.

When they approached the driver, 20-year-old Guillermo Cava-Nunez, he said he was about the meet his girlfriend to play Pokemon in the park with her.

Nunez agreed to a vehicle search. Deputies found more than 66 Xanax bars, marijuana, hash oil, cocaine, rolling papers and a scale. Nunez admitted to having some of the drugs.
