Man found dead at Tampa retail store after shots fired

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A man walked into a Ross store with a handgun in Tampa Saturday night, moments later employees and customers heard gunshots, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened shortly before 9 p.m. at the Ross store located at 14940 N. Dale Mabry Highway. According to HCSO, a man walked into the store with a handgun. He walked towards the front counter and then to the rear of the store.

That’s when patrons and employees started evacuating the store. They heard gunshots in the rear of the store.

When HCSO deputies arrived, they found the man dead. Nobody else was injured.

Detectives are investigating the shooting. They haven’t released any more information.
