Disney: New Muppets stage show to debut at Magic Kingdom in October

ORLANDO, Fla. (WESH) – A new stage show starring Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Kermit the Frog and the rest of The Muppets gang will debut at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on Oct. 2.

“The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History” will be presented several times daily outside The Hall of Presidents.

Walt Disney World announced the debut of the new Muppets show on Friday.

According to Disney, the new show will feature Sam Eagle, a patriotic American eagle and James “J.J.” Jefferson and The Muppets telling historical tales from America’s past. The Muppets will “share their own unique take on the founding fathers and the birth of the United States,” from Paul Revere’s midnight ride to the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The show will include original songs.

Earlier this year, Disney announced it would open PizzeRizzo, a pizza restaurant at the Muppets Courtyard at Hollywood Studios whose owner is Rizzo the Rat from The Muppets. The restaurant will open this fall.

The casual-dining Italian eatery will replace the former Toy Story Pizza Planet, which closed earlier this year.

The two-story, quick-service PizzeRizzo will have indoor and outdoor seating and a banquet hall.
