Shirtless, barefoot bandits steal charity items in Polk County

LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) –  Police are on the lookout for a pair of barefoot, shirtless bandits who hit a real estate business in Lakeland over the weekend and stole thousands of dollars worth of items for an upcoming charity event.

The men, who are covered in tattoos were caught on surveillance video as they helped themselves inside the business.

In addition to stealing items for the charity event, the thieves also cleaned out the business of more than $5,000 worth of electronic equipment including laptops and computer monitors.

The two men broke into S&D Real Estate Services on 2000 East Edgewood Drive early Saturday morning around 1:30 a.m. took some items and then returned again around 2:30 a.m., this time with a little more clothing to cover themselves.

The charity items were meant for an upcoming Ducks Unlimited event in Bartow.

As of Thursday, Lakeland Police did not have any leads in the case.
