LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A pet boa constrictor escaped from a home in south Fort Myers, Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies posted on Facebook.

The snake escaped from a home on Caloosa Road in San Carlos Park Thursday evening. The pet is 6.5 feet long. Its name is Sheila.

Deputies said it ate four days ago so it’s not due to be hungry again for a while.

Sheila has only ever eaten frozen food and most likely won’t attack unless it feels threatened, deputies said.

They hope local residents help find it.
