More than 59 pounds of marijuana seized from grow house in Sarasota County, deputies say

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Detectives charged an Englewood man with operating a grow house in his home. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant Tuesday at the residence of Ronald Ortiz, 1492 Keyway Road.

More than 59 pounds of marijuana was seized, deputies said. Detectives found 25 cannabis plants in a building detached from the main house, according to the sheriff’s office.

Ortiz, 68, is charged with trafficking marijuana. He’s being held without bond ad the Sarasota County Jail.
