Tampa, Fla. – WFLA News Channel 8 will host its 8th annual KINDNESS DAY on Friday, Dec. 9 (starting at 6 a.m.) at News Channel 8 located at 200 S. Parker St. in Tampa.

“We’re happy to have the opportunity to again bring together four charities this holiday season. News Channel 8, along with its sponsors and community partners, are dedicated to helping our community and making the holiday season special for four Tampa Bay area charities,”  Andy Alford, President and General Manager of WFLA, News Channel 8.”

News Channel 8’s KINDNESS DAY is sponsored by Hyundai of New Port Richey, Circle K, Florida Pain, Famous Tate, Massage Envy and Tampa Bay Times. Hyundai of New Port Richey is making a special donation supporting both the toy drive (750 new toys) and food drive efforts (feeding 75,000 families).

Circle K is offering a FREE cup of coffee at its locations throughout the Tampa Bay area on Dec.9 for every $2 donation its customers give towards “kindness.” All proceeds from the coffee donations will be divided up evenly among the four charities.

Charities benefiting from KINDNESS DAY include Feeding Tampa Bay, OneBlood, Toys for Tots, Tampa Rough Riders and the Teddy Bear Roundup. Volunteers will accept donations Friday starting at 6 a.m. and continue until 7 p.m.

Donations can be dropped off at News Channel 8 via a fast and easy drive-through system. The drop-off location will be at the station’s visitor parking lot. OneBlood’s blood mobiles will also be on site to accept blood donations for those that have time to stop, park and donate.

As an ‘act of kindness,’ each passing car will be handed a Goody Bag containing five random offers from our “community partners,” which includes Hyundai of New Port Richey; Circle K; Famous Tate; Massage Envy; Florida Pain; Harlem Globetrotters; Tampa Bay Lightning; Glazer Children’s Museum; Florida Strawberry Festival; News Channel 8 / Great 38; Gasparilla Distance Classic; Chick-fil-A; Tampa Bay Buccaneers; PDQ; Caspers Company McDonald’s Restaurants; Dunkin Donuts; Yogurtology; MOSI; Tampa Bay Times; and the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
