Clearwater man dies in crash near Bayside Bridge

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA)–  A Clearwater man was killed on Monday morning when his car crossed the median at the entrance to the Bayside Bridge.

Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol say Brent Touchton, 52, of Clearwater was traveling southbound on Country Road 611, just North of Roosevelt Boulevard when his car crossed over the center median and entered the northbound lanes.

Touchton’s car crashed, nearly head-on, with a vehicle which was traveling northbound. The crash happened around 9 a.m.

Touchton was transported to Bayfront Medical Center, where he died from injuries he suffered in the crash.
