TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Fall is just around the corner and WFLA’s Lila Gross is here to make sure you look fabulous. She’s got the scoop on everything you need to know for your new fall hairdo.
Haircut Trend: The Undercut
“You know one of the biggest trends we’re finding is that you can really rock your natural texture,” Reed Evans said. “So, there’s nothing more beautiful than being yourself.”
The new cut trending this fall is called the “undercut”. Reed Evans explained instead of your layers being placed on top, they will actually be cut underneath your hair.
He adds that this kind of cut will give you three things: quicker blow dry times, tons of texture and it will make your natural texture come to life.
Highlight Trend: Baby Lights
“Baby lights” are the new thing. So basically, you’re aiming for your hair to look like it did when you were a youngster. The desired look is to replicate the natural highlights which came to life when you played in the sun for an extended period of time.
“What’s amazing about baby lights is it’s inspired by your natural color,” Reed Evans said. He said he creates baby lights by bringing the highlights a little higher than where your old ombre started and blends them down throughout the rest of your hair.
Color Trend: Make it Edgy
Reed Evans said as Fall approaches there are many ways for you to change your color, without being too drastic.
“Think about how you can take your natural color, and take it to the next level,” Reed Evans said.
There are also always ways for you to add some edge to your hair as well.
Reed Evans said if you’re desperate to add some unnatural color to your hair, start by adding it to the underneath layers, or a couple of pieces in front. The best part about colors like rose gold or violet, is they wash out rather quickly and all that will be left is your beautiful platinum color.
